The Gap Nobody Talks About

You Were Never Taught Change Management

The Gap Nobody Talks About

You were Hired to Lead Change, But Never Taught the Science of How

It is not your fault. Change management was never part of our preparation as school leaders, even though the science and strategy have existed for decades.

You can be a visionary, committed, talented leader and still watch initiatives stall, teams disengage, and your energy drain, not because of who you are but because of what you were never taught.

Promising changes stall, even if it was a great idea

You encounter significant resistance from stakeholders

Talented leaders and faculty burn out

You rely on instinct and relationships to make change happen

Anna helped us understand the dynamics at play around what we were trying to accomplish. She named what others could not, translated tension into insight, and guided us toward constructive, sustainable change.

What impressed me most was Anna’s ability to steady both people and process simultaneously. She possesses a rare talent for understanding the psychology of teams and the pressure points of leadership, like those critical moments when the change and my team felt like they both were going to unravel. Through her coaching and facilitation, we learned to navigate organizational politics with integrity, communicate more intentionally, and rebuild trust across all levels of school.

Built On Decades of Leadership Experience

More About the Facilitator

I’m Dr. Anna Carello, and I specialize in helping school leaders navigate complex change initiatives with strategy, dignity, and community engagement. With both public and independent school experience, I know both systems. I designed this summer professional development experience because I wish I had access to it when I was a school-based leader.

Change is something every school leader encounters every day, yet we rarely view our leadership through that lens. What if we did?

Change is one of the most complex human experiences, bringing out a range of emotional responses and systemic challenges. But we were never taught change management in our school leadership programs. That’s a shame, because it’s a standard discipline for our peers in nearly every other industry, and a skill schools will absolutely benefit from.

This summer workshop teaches you the foundational principles of change management so you can lead change better than ever, and with more buy-in than ever.
